27 years later I am finally beginning to understand how my mind works - Part 1
Sounds like a long time to understand something that has fundamentally been with me, grown and changed with me, right? I bet you, a lot of you haven't really understood your minds either, so let's try
We often don’t look at our existence, bodies, and minds as our individual systems. We are so blinded to following the system of the world that’s already set, that we lose ourselves there, and experience burnout.
It starts from the schooling system where a whole classroom of differently-minded kids are forced to follow the same system, same patterns of learning and same timelines. We automatically are led to competing with our fellow beings without learning or even consciously realising our mind’s and body’s rhythm. We perform differently in this very traced-out system and we are again put in the boxes of what we are good at.
Do you see how badly the system is rigged?
We become so numb to the idea of our individual rhythm that it seems unnatural.
Here is a science-y example, do you know what’s your chronotype?
Chronotype is our natural circadian rhythm, or what is our ideal sleep time.
Find out yours with this questionnaire by researchers: 19 Questions to your Chronotype
Now if you read your results, you’d realise if you function differently from your natural circadian rhythm, you’re doing things fundamentally wrong. And this is your own body’s natural state we talk about.
Sleep is one factor, like this, we have a rhythm of our minds, productivity, physical strength and functionality. And each individual unique rhythm is our true knowledge.
For all the fancy degrees, our society has lost fundamental knowledge in the illusions of education and academics.
I would like you to brainstorm and leave your thoughts on your own discoveries of self-education, meanwhile, I will work on the next part of this piece.
A token of pondering, this video is the first that truly explained how my brain functions: 27 years later I finally understand how my mind works!
